Abstract

A convenient and efficient procedure was developed for preparing α,α′-icyanostilbenes through the oxidative coupling reaction of benzyl cyanide derivatives using N-benzyl DABCO tribromide as the oxidative bromination reagent in the presence of K2CO3 as a base.
