Preparation of silver nanoparticles by laser ablation and fragmentation in pure water

Abstract
Silver nanoparticles were produced by irradiating a silver plate with 1064 nm laser beam in pure water. The effect of the laser fluence and ablation time on the ablation efficiency was studied. Fragmentation of the ablated colloid solution by subsequent treatment with 1064 and 532 nm laser pulses yield redistribution of nanoparticles to a smaller mean size. A graph is presented.
