Abstract

The synthesis, characterization, and catalytic activity of triazine diphosphonium hydrogen sulfate ionic liquid-modified silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles ([APTADP]HSO4@MNPs) are reported. The organized magnetic nanocatalyst was characterized using FT-IR, FE-SEM, SEM–EDX, TEM, VSM, TG/DTG, XRD, and ICP techniques. The activity of this catalyst was evaluated in the synthesis of some novel mono- and bis-phenyl-2-(cyclohexylamino)-2-oxoethyl-2-acetoxybenzoate derivatives as Passerini adducts from cyclohexyl isocynide, different arylaldehydes, and aspirine/benzoic acid derivatives in water. The Passerini additives' composition was determined using spectroscopic procedures like melting point, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, elemental analysis, and MS spectra. Synthesizing a wide variety of biological materials under mild conditions, high yield, and purity due to the simple production process, excellent recovery, and catalyst recycling makes this process attractive and in close agreement with green chemistry. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
