The present article is an analytical-comparative study on the thoughts and beliefs of "Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi", the great man of Islamic poetry, literature and mysticism in Iran, and "Victor Hugo", the representative of 19th century romantic poetry in France. In this research, the author tries to address the similarities and differences between these two worldviews by applying the views and ideas of "Rumi" and "Victor Hugo" about "God", "world" and "death" and to achieve the point that change The geographical and social region, as well as the historical period in the works of world literature in the field of comparative literature, do not cause a disturbance in the fact that these works seek to instill it in the audience. To achieve this goal, the simultaneous or subject-oriented method and among its types, the thematic method has been used. For this purpose, the book "Collection of Poems by Victor Hugo", which can be said to be a representative of the school of Romanticism, is used as a basis for analyzing and examining "Hugo" ideas. © 2020, Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tehran.
