Abstract
Sulfonated cellulose and starch as new catalysts were prepared and applied for the Fridedländer synthesis of quinolines through a condensation reaction of a 2-aminoarylketone with an activated CH-acid such as cyclic or acyclic β-diketone or cyclic ketone compounds with high yields within several minutes under solvent-free conditions at 100 °C. © 2007 Elsevier B.V.
