Organization profile

The Faculty of Chemistry at University of Isfahan has been a leader in chemical research and education for over half a century. With 50 faculty members (including 8 academicians of the Iranian Academy of Sciences) and over 700 students, the faculty offers comprehensive programs in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and nanochemistry. The Central Research Laboratory houses a 500 MHz NMR spectrometer, single-crystal and powder X-ray diffractometers, and GC/LC-MS systems. The faculty has established the Center for Sustainable Chemistry which focuses on green chemistry applications in industry. Recent achievements include developing novel catalysts for petrochemical processes and biodegradable polymers for medical applications. The faculty publishes the "Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society" (Q1 in Scopus) and hosts the biennial International Chemistry Conference of Iran (ICCI). Industrial partnerships include collaborations with Isfahan Petrochemical Company, Zagros Petrochemical, and Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute. The faculty has produced numerous distinguished alumni including recipients of the Khwarizmi International Award and members of international scientific organizations.
