The main objective of this paper was to evaluate the user experience (UX) of students in higher education by conducting usability testing in the e-learning context, specifically utilizing the University of Isfahan (UI) Learning Management System (LMS). The survey method was used in the current study and to collect data we utilized random sampling to evaluate the usability aspects defined in ISO 9241-11 standards based on a modified system usability scale (SUS) involving 377 end-users. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel software and findings showed that SUS score for the University of Isfahan's LMS is 60.05 which falls in the 'OK usability' range and is acceptable. Also, we explored the features of AI-enhanced LMSs using a ranking question to comprehensively understand students' perspectives suggesting that Chatbots for support and intelligent content recommendations are among the most expected features for prominent educational outcomes. From the NPS assessment, -43 implies areas for improvement. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of this study was to identify the variables that can potentially affect information-seeking behaviour in mental health service providers using a quasi-experimental research design. The sample included 30 mental health professionals (with minimum 2 years of experience) to each of whom a scenario was presented in which signs and symptoms of three patients were presented, simulating an actual diagnostic interview. Stress response evaluation (SRE), questionnaires, behavioural observation by the Morae software, and semi-structured interviews were used as means of data collection. Our findings showed that variables such as demographic (e.g. field of study, level of education, work experience and age), psychological (e.g. state and trait anxiety, and therapist’s self-assessment) and skill level (e.g. information literacy and expert knowledge) had significant effects on information-seeking behaviour. These results can hopefully provide insights to designers and librarians who seek to create novel or optimise the existing physician-assisted systems. © The Author(s) 2022.
The main objective of the paper was a comparative investigation of acquiring management data by the managers of the Tehran Universities Central Library's (TUCL) which are under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT) the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MHME) located in Tehran in different managerial levels of these libraries. The comparative survey method is used in the current study and to collect data, researcher-made questionnaires were employed. The data were analyzed in two levels using Minitab software. Findings of the research suggested that middle managers mainly preferred to utilize the workers' reports and operational managers used the internet as their informational resources. Regarding applying the information both preferred planning most and authoring and research, least. Middle managers and operational managers' main priority to get information was to contact experts and surf on the internet, respectively and their last priority was using the personal library. Regarding communication methods, both groups mainly preferred phone most and attending conferences last. In addition to guiding information science experts, the results of the current study can give insights to the designers and experts of the management information systems (MISs) in designing user-friendly systems. © 2022 IEEE.

The aim of this study was investigating the stress levels of mental health professionals in the process of diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders based on the Kuhlthau's Information Search Process (ISP). The present study was an applied research project and used a quasi-experimental method. The population consists of psychologists and psychiatrists with more than two years of treatment experience. The sample includes 30 therapists who are chosen in a public Therapists.call during a competition called Top The competition was held at Atieh Clinic in 2018. To gather data, some tools such as Questionnaire, Stress Response Evaluation, and Morae software were used. The findings show that the therapists, contrary to the Kuhlthau's view, experience a certain amount of stress at all stages of Kuhlthau's ISP. This level of stress, which is significantly different from the baseline stress of therapists, does not change considerably in most stages of Kuhlthau's ISP. This stress is seen as a useful and effective one, based on the focus and excitement of the therapists in the diagnosis and treatment process. In addition, all demographic variables except gender may have a significant effect on stress. Finally, it can be concluded that by relying on modern tools,neuroscience and information technology one can provide a better understanding of the moment-by-moment process of therapists' information seeking behavior. © 2020, University of Tehran. Purpose - The aim of this paper is to investigate the pros and cons of Iranian library management software, focusing on the usage of open source technology. It seeks to analyse the viewpoints of librarians in the University of Isfahan as a sample to extend the findings to the Iranian Library management software community. Design/methodology/approach - In order to get the opinions of librarians, the descriptive method is used. The required data are collected by literature review, questionnaire and open interview from university top managers, software technical staff, libraries managers, librarians, end users, and companies providing similar products. However, because of time limitations, the authors could only gather data by researcher-made checklist of the librarians (informants) who directly have worked with University of Isfahan in the libraries. Findings - The main problem of many library management software platforms in Iran is that the focus of development is mainly on technical issues rather than management, operational, and end-user concerns. This is highlighted when open source software is used because it is common for an off-the-shelf product to be used with less consideration of the nontechnical issues. This is the reason that Iranian libraries are moving to replace their software with commercial versions. Research limitations/implications - There was insufficient cooperation of some librarians in identifying capabilities and deficiencies of UILMS and limited cooperation of some technical experts in reviewing the software. Originality/value - Considering the lack of standard checklists, this paper presents a relatively complete checklist to evaluate the library software. © Copyright - 2012 Emerald Group Publishing Limited. The project aim was to establish an SDI (Selected Dissemination of Information) service for the faculty members at University of Tehran, faculty of psychology and education. The project was carried out during the 2006-2007 period. First, a three stage survey was conducted to identify the information needs which were then served using a current awareness service over the period. Findings confirmed an that the SDI project significantly impacted on the faculty information seeking behavior. Furthermore, there had been evidence supporting the fact that it has also influenced the quality of instruction by facilitating the overall efficacy of information sources collected. It was the intent of researchers to expand this project at later stages to include all humanities faculties in the university and if possible at a national level.
